The Work Schedule
Construction will begin in Mid-August and last until the end of 2009.
Construction Overview ;
Beltline Hwy/Coburg Rd eastbound off ramp:
The eastbound off-ramp would be extended approximately 500 feet, which moves the exit back on Beltline. Also, it creates about 1000 feet of dual lane storage, dual left turn lanes (exclusive left and a through-left), and a ~500 foot right-turn bay. Sound wall along property lines of SWQ will also be built.
Beltline Hwy/Coburg Rd westbound off ramp:
The westbound off ramp would be extended and widened to accommodate dual lane storage and dual lefts onto Coburg.
Coburg Rd southbound from Chad Drive to Beltline Hwy eastbound on ramp:
The Coburg median just north of westbound interchange intersection would be used as a left-turn-bay extension for the left turn traffic using the eastbound interchange intersection
Project Purpose and Need
Peak hour traffic queues on eastbound Coburg Road off ramp back onto Beltline.
How Is The Project Being Funded?
Estimated construction cost is $2.75 million. The money is modernization funding from the STIP; 06-09 and 08-11.
