Description: The purpose of the project is to provide a wider and safer sidewalk (multiuse path). There is no northbound bike lane on this section of the highway. The sidewalk on the south side of the highway will be constructed to a 12' width with a 5' planting strip from Walnut Street to the east end of the project where the sidewalk tapers to 8' to tie into an existing multiuse path.
Traffic Impacts: There will be one eastbound lane open to traffic with a 4 ft temporary bike/ped path, delineated by a 'Pedestrian Channelization Device' and tubular markers, sharing the roadway from midnight on Sunday until 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Throughout the weekend, beginning 3:00 p.m. on Friday, there will be two lanes open eastbound with a 4 ft temporary bike/ped path adjacent to traffic, delineated by 'Pedestrian Channelization Device' and tubular markers. Westbound traffic will not be impacted.
Work Schedule: The project is to be totally completed no later than early January 2014.
