Description: The City of Eugene, in partnership with The Eugene 4J School District, received a federal grant to build pedestrian safety improvements and bike facilities to encourage children to walk and bicycle to local schools. The following intersections will receive various improvements, ranging from enhanced striping and signs to pedestrian activated rapid flashing beacons: * Willakenzie Road and Bogart Lane * Oakway Road and Lariat Drive/St. Andrews Drive * Oakway Road and Bedford Way * East 22nd Avenue and Agate Street * Emerald Street and Onyx Street at 22nd Avenue and 23rd Avenue (4 intersections) * 23rd Avenue and Harris Street * Hilyard Street and 28th Avenue * 30th Avenue and Alder Street * 29th Avenue at Harris Street and Potter Street (2 intersections) * Chambers Street and 15th Avenue * 18th Avenue and Friendly Street * Todd Street and Ellen Avenue * South Street and Van Avenue In addition, the following schools will receive pedestrian and bike improvements: * Camas Ridge Elementary * Cesar Chavez Elementary * McCornack Elementary * Meadowlark / Buena Vista Elementary * Roosevelt Middle School Bike paths throughout the Eugene School 4J District will receive 39 additional wayfinding signs.
