LCOG point2point LTD ODOT Lane County Eugene Springfield Coburg Working together to keep you moving

39th Avenue, 40th Avenue, Brae Burn, & Donald (Project completed)

Completed: Yes
MTIP: N/A Construction Year: 2015
Jurisdiction: City of Eugene Mode: Road

This project will include the repair and paving of three streets:

  • 39th Avenue from Willamette to Brae Burn,
  • 40th Avenue from Donald to Hilyard, and
  • Brae Burn from Willamette to 39th Avenue
  • Donald Street from 32nd Avenue to 40th Avenue

These streets have moderate to severe pavement deterioration due to age and traffic loading and need to be repaved. Work will also include reconstructing sidewalk access ramps throughout the project in order to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Business Access During Construction? Yes

This project is scheduled for construction in the summer of 2015.

Traffic Impacts:

Drivers should expect lane closures, lane shifts and temporary detours during construction. Pedestrians should expect sidewalk detours during the sidewalk ramp work at the intersections. Bicyclists should expect to merge with motor vehicle traffic depending on available lane widths during construction. With any construction, drivers should expect equipment and workers in the roadway leading to congestion and delays during the work.

Work Schedule:

Prior to the start of street construction, the City’s arborists may be on site trimming trees to prevent overhead limbs from being damaged by construction equipment. Also prior to construction, utility companies (water, electricity, gas) may be on site adjusting their facilities in order to avoid conflicts with the work and prevent damage to their facilities.

This project is primarily funded by the street repair bond passed by voters in 2012 and the local gas tax which funds the City’s Pavement Preservation Program.
