7th Avenue & Place, Hwy 99 to Bailey Hill Road

Construction Update - Week of Sep 20, 2018

W. 7th Avenue (Bailey Hill Rd. to Seneca Rd.):  Final paving is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.

On Monday, West 7th Avenue will be open to one way eastbound only traffic from Bailey Hill Road to Seneca Road while the northern half of the road is paved.  Market Street will be closed at West 7th Avenue.  Westbound through traffic should use West 5th Avenue or West 11th Avenue as an alternative.

On Tuesday, West 7th Avenue will be open to one way eastbound only traffic from Bailey Hill Road to Market Street while the southern half of the road is paved.  West 7th Avenue will be closed between Market Street and Seneca Road.  Westbound through traffic should use West 5th Avenue or West 11th Avenue as an alternative.  Eastbound through traffic should use West 11th Avenue as an alternative.

From Wednesday to Friday, construction crews will be striping the road and performing final utility adjustments.  Be on the lookout for construction vehicles in the roadway and temporary lane closures. 

All work is weather dependent.  Check area signs for updates and expect significant delays in the area all week.

 

W. 7th Place (Seneca Rd. to Hwy.  99/W. 7th Ave.):  Final paving is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.  On Monday, West 7th Place will be open to eastbound only traffic from Seneca Road to Hwy 99 while the northern half of the road is being paved.  As they are paved, the Highway 99 off ramp and the intersections of West 7th Place at Conger Street, Wilson Street, and McKinley Street will be closed on the north side until the pavement sets.  For access to area businesses, drivers should use West 11th Avenue and come from the south.  Westbound through traffic should use West 5th Avenue or West 11th Avenue as an alternative.  On Tuesday, West 7th Place will be open to westbound only traffic from Seneca Road to Hwy 99 while the southern half of the road is being paved.  As they are paved, the Highway 99 on ramp and the intersections of West 7th Place at Tyinn Street , Conger Street, Wilson Street, and McKinley Street will be closed on the south side until the pavement sets.  West 7th Avenue will be closed at Seneca Road, and westbound traffic must turn north or south onto Seneca Road.  For access to area businesses, drivers should use West 5th Avenue and come from the north.  Eastbound through traffic should use West 5th Avenue or West 11th Avenue as an alternative.  From Wednesday to Friday, construction crews will be striping the road and performing final utility adjustments.   Be on the lookout for construction vehicles in the roadway and temporary lane closures.  All work is weather dependent.  Check area signs for updates and expect significant delays in the area all week.

Description:

• This project includes the removal and replacement of the existing paved surface. 

• The existing old railroad crossings will be removed.

• Access ramps will be constructed at some corners.

• When complete, this project may add dedicated bike lanes.

• Sections of the road may be closed to through traffic, and other sections may be reduced to one lane.

• With any construction, drivers should expect equipment and workers in the roadway leading to congestion and delays during the work. 

Work Schedule:

• This project is scheduled for construction in the spring/summer of 2018. 

• Also prior to construction, utility companies (water, electricity, gas) may be on-site adjusting their facilities in order to avoid conflicts with the work and prevent damage to their facilities.  

Funding:

• This project is entirely funded by the voter approved 2012 Pavement Bond Measure.
