30th Avenue-Willamette Street to Ferry Street and Mill Street from 30th Ave (North) to 30th Ave (South)

Construction Update - Week of Oct 18, 2018

E. 30th Avenue (Willamette St. to Ferry St.):  Closed to through traffic while construction crews repair the road.  Through traffic should use East 29th Avenue or East 31st Avenue as an alternative.  All work is weather dependent.  Check area signs for updates and expect delays all week.

• These sections of roadway are local streets between Willamette Street and Ferry Street in the Southeast Neighbors Neighborhood.
• These streets has severe cracking due to age and poor subgrade conditions and need to be reconstructed.
• Work will also include reconstructing concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk access ramps.
• This project is primarily intended to repair the street pavement. There will also be some storm sewer upgrades incorporated into the project work.

Traffic Impacts:

• Drivers should expect street and lane closures and lane shifts during construction with possible one way traffic during some phases of construction.
• Bicyclists should expect to merge with motor vehicle traffic depending on available lane widths during construction.
• With any construction, drivers should expect equipment and workers in the roadway leading to congestion and delays during the work.

Work Schedule:

• This project is scheduled for construction in the summer of 2018.
• Prior to the start of street construction, the City’s arborists may be on-site trimming trees to prevent overhead limbs from being damaged by construction equipment.
• Also prior to construction, utility companies (water, electricity, gas) may be on-site adjusting their facilities in order to avoid conflicts with the work and prevent damage to their facilities.


• The major source of funding is from the voter approved 2012 Pavement Bond Measure.
• Other funding for the storm system upgrades will come from the Stormwater Utility Fund.
