Construction Update - Week of Jun 8, 2018

River Road Crackseal (South of Maxwell Rd.):  Crackseal crews will be prepping streets for an upcoming slurry seal project in the River Road neighborhood south of Maxwell Road.

• This project includes the following Streets:
   o Tulip Street (Holly to Crescent).
   o Larkspur Ave. (Just west of Monterey to Norkenzie).
   o Larkspur Loop.
   o Piper Ln and Ct (Fir Acres to just west of Chasa).
   o Roland Way (Oakway to Cal Young).
   o Carmel Ave (Minda to 400’ South).
• Each street will be reconstructed utilizing a sustainable in-place reclamation process.
• Access ramps will be upgraded at all locations that already have sidewalks.

Business Access During Construction? Yes
Traffic Impacts:

• Drivers should expect lane closures and lane shifts during construction of access ramps.
• During street reconstruction, local traffic on the affected streets will be limited.
• Pedestrians should expect sidewalk detours during the sidewalk ramp work at the
• Bicyclists should expect to merge with motor vehicle traffic or follow detours.
• With any construction, drivers should expect equipment and workers in the roadway leading to congestion and delays during the work.

Work Schedule:

• This project is scheduled for construction in the spring/summer of 2018.
• Prior to the start of street construction, the City’s arborists may be on-site trimming trees to prevent overhead limbs from being damaged by construction equipment.
• Also prior to construction, utility companies (water, electricity, gas) may be on-site adjusting their facilities in order to avoid conflicts with the work and prevent damage to their facilities.


• This project is funded by the voter approved 2012 Pavement Bond measure.
